That was fun - started the outdoor season in Aachen has started

A third place in the Grand Prix and the fifth in the freestyle. In Aachen, summer began with wonderful sunny spring days that you could enjoy the beautiful weather on the impressive equestrian sports grounds of Aachen Soers in a good mood. The fun in equestrian sports continued at the Aachen Dressage Days from Apriol, 16th to 18th with two great results in the international CDI3 * competition. That's how spring can go on in summertime.

Even if the big names did not register, there were two impressive and very international starter lists for the two Grand Prix competitions, each with 22 participants. In Aachen, the participants had to decide on the announcement for the freestyle or the special. Both major competitions were preceded on Tuesday by a Grand Prix qualification. Aachen should once again be a test for Dia for the tests outside the hall and also for the Grand Prix freestyle.

Would the freestyle in international sports please the judges? That was the central question of this competition for Tatiana. Yes, the free program is good. Choreography and rhythm were rated at an average of more than 7.5 percentage points, music and music interpretation came up: 7.5, 8.5, 8, 7.5 and 8. So you can be very satisfied. In the execution there are still possibilities for optimization: three mistakes pushed the result to 73.895 percent (71.550% technique, 76.240% artistic grade). Two mistakes each in strong trot and a dropout on the final line in the passage prevented an even higher rating. Overall, it was the fifth place. But that judges can still be inspired with this idea, showed a judge with 83 percent for the artistic touch.

Already on Tuesday, Dia showed that she is well prepared for the outdoor season. The big stadium only impressed a little at the beginning of the test. Then she was able to break away and got better and better. In the first third of the test, the judges were more likely to be in the range of 6.5, which changed during the test, especially at the beginning of the walk tour. Here was already a first nine. The judges then shuttled to an average of 7.5. In the end, the result was just under 70 percent, third place. Overall, the judges were rather sparing with the notes. In both Grand Prix ratings with a total of 44 participants, there were just 5 results with 70 and more percentage points, which is unusual for a 3-star test. On the grandstand you had the impression that international top performances were shown here. In the award ceremony, Dia developed a special ambition. The stallion placed in front of her seemed particularly impressed by the mare and showed all his masculinity. The animated Dia might be to rush past this beautiful gentleman, which could only be prevented by Tatiana's massive intervention. So the Dressage Days came to an add-on, reminiscent of a levade from Spanish Riding school. For Dia that was unusual, so far she was rather calm and relaxed at award ceremonies. She will learn that she has to put all her ambitions to the test if she wants to be at the top of the podium.

Aachen is a special experience. The grounds in the Soers are ideally designed for the big equestrian sport. From the parking situation on the warm-up areas and stables to the dressage arena, the complex was spacious, functional and well maintained. Although the stables are older, they were very spacious, nicely renovated and clean. With the excellent weather, the good mood set itself at Aachen Tivoli. That was a lot of fun.
