Tryon in the grip of Florence

The program is still continuing as planned. However, during the morning work, the clouds on the horizon emphasize the nearness of Hurricane Florence. The for Sunday scheduled Grand Prix Freestyle can not take place. It is forecasted heavy rain and wind on the competition grounds. Behind the scenes, the organization and those responsible are working feverishly to schedule the freestyle on Monday.

The organizational effort for such a transfer is however immense. Flights, also for horses, rebook, organize accommodation, not only for the riders, but also for entire teams and also for the team members who do not ride in the freestyle. That will be hard to do.

The news is dominated by the cyclone. Pretty much every tree that has fallen over somewhere is interviewed. The wind should not be the problem. The hurricane now has wind peaks of 50 mph, well below hurricane force. The cyclone moves slowly forward with about 3 km / h. Problem could be the heavy rain. Profuse and long-lasting rains are predicted. Hopefully the horses, people and stables will be spared. The competition area will surely suffer from the water entry.
