On to Tokio

After 40 years, a Russian team will again participate in the dressage competitions of the Olympic Games. The four riders of the Russian team won the qualifying tournament in Moscow on June 22. Tatiana and Diavolessa were the second best Russian pair in the decisive Grand Prix de Dressage and were thus able to play a decisive role in shaping the Russian success.

The Group Central Europe/Central Asia of the FEI has been awarded one starting place in the national classification at the dressage competitions in Tokyo 2020. At an international CDI2* tournament, it has now been determined who is allowed to take this place. A Grand Prix test had been scheduled at the well-kept Maxima Park riding facility just outside Moscow. 12 participants fought for the first place.

The weather god had meant it especially well with the organizer, almost too good. 28 degrees in the shade caused a lot of sweat pearls not only for the sportswomen. Tatiana rode Dia to third place with 69 percent. The first, fourth and fifth places also went to Russia. This allowed the country to win the national evaluation.

Good news on Saturday. Russia can put together a team with riders and horses that are fairly reliable by 70 percent in Grand Prix trials, Elena Sidneva, the day's winner, even clear about it in the last competitions. This is a solid basis for future international challenges.
